These two trees died at the end of the Ming Dynasty, about 300 years ago. The Chinese people simply left them alone. About 30 years ago, small green leaves started growing out of the bark! The leaves look like dragon scales! Click on photo, you might be able to see the green scales near the top right tree. Today, these old trees are very much alive. If you stand between them, like I'm doing, you can absorb the rejuvenating chi and live a long life!
The appreciation banquet in honor of His Holiness Grandmaster Lin Yun, was held in the Gold Room of the Fairmount Hotel. It was held on January 2nd, the Grandmaster’s actual birthday. He is 73 years old.
Tiffany and Jennifer Wang preformed a traditional Chinese Butterfly Dance. Their teacher made their costumes and fans. If you squint your eyes, it looked like giant red butterflies fluttering to the delight of everyone in attendance!
Jennifer Wang also performed a traditional Mongolian Dance, which was enjoyed by all.
Elvis made another appearance, singing many Elvis hit songs, substituting the Grandmaster’s name.

Some of you may know that Grandmaster Lin Yun suggested that Odette Larde paint a picture of him, as a personal meditation for her. What a meditation!
